Shopify staff offboarding checklist

Shopify staff accounts are managed from the store’s settings under Users. Point of sale staff with only a PIN are handled in POS settings.

Track it in Handover

Store and POS

Remove or deactivate their staff account.
Remove their POS PIN so they can’t clock in or ring sales.
Review collaborator accounts from agencies or freelancers they brought in.

Around the store

Change shared logins for supplier portals, shipping accounts and marketplace seller accounts.
Check social media and ad accounts linked to the store.
Record what you did and when.

Questions

What happens to orders they processed?

Removing a staff account doesn’t delete order history. Records of what they did stay with the store.
