Canva offboarding checklist

Marketing and social media staff often build your brand kit and templates in Canva. Before removing someone, make sure the designs your business needs are owned by someone who is staying. Canva team admins manage members in the team settings.

Keep your designs

  • Find designs, templates and folders they created that the business uses.
  • Move or transfer ownership of those to a teammate, or copy them into a shared team folder.
  • Check the brand kit: logos, fonts and colors should be owned by the team, not one person.

Remove access

  • Remove them from the Canva team in the team’s member settings.
  • If they were the team owner or an admin, give that role to someone else first.
  • Disconnect Canva from social media accounts they linked, and change those social media passwords.

Record

  • Record when access was removed.

Questions

Do I lose designs when I remove someone from Canva?

You can, if the designs belong to them. Move or copy anything the business needs before removing them, and check Canva’s help center for how ownership works on your plan.
